A Call for Reviews
Hello, everyone!
First, I want to thank you all for your continued support, motivation and prayers as I continue walking out my life’s calling. The last few years has been a thrilling mixture of excitement, fear, opportunity, miracles, and soul-searching as I not only continue to turn the crank on the writing machine, but also as I learn how to market my work. I appreciate your willingness to smother me with love and encouragement.
Several hundred of you have blessed my family and me by procuring and reading both The Epiphany of Joy and Melted Clowns. It’s been fun listening to stories about parents and grandparents reading Melted Clowns over and over to their children and grandchildren at bedtime, or how kids insist they sleep with the book. And it’s been uplifting to learn how the Spirit has touched people’s hearts and lives through The Epiphany of Joy. Anecdotes like these reaffirm my direction and motivate me to stay the course. I’ve always said that if the Spirit could touch one life through the work He’s appointed me, then it will be worth it. Now I know these books have touched many, and for that I’m profoundly grateful.
If either Melted Clowns or The Epiphany of Joy has made you laugh or has inspired you in any way, would you be willing to share your experience with potential readership? Both Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com provide the opportunity to write reviews on works you’ve read. To access those venues, click on the buttons in the upper right-hand corner of my blog page and the internet will kindly take you there. Reviews don’t have to be long–just a few words will do. Goodreads.com is also a great place to share your opinions, so check out that website as well. I plan to create an author page there soon, so keep checking back for the latest.
Again, thank you for keeping me motivated to continue to turn the crank, and thank you for all your support, prayers and interest as we travel on this incredible journey together. Without you my life’s calling would be meaningless. With you the world is truly blessed.
Blessings,
David
Hang in there, David. I have spoken to several authors who have explained the same thing to me that you are going through. I don’t know the answer to book marketing. I was with Joel Rosenberg in NY a few days ago and he is selling millions but his first one was not such a big hit until he wrote his first huge seller. Since then every book has been a blockbuster. Lord bless you!
Thanks, Levi! This is God’s way of teaching me patience and persistence. I love Steve Martin’s quote from Born Standing Up: “Thankfully, persistence is a great substitute for talent.” Thanks for your continued encouragement!
